AppWorks Spotlight: Kimberly

President of AppWorks, Kimberly Carlson, is known for her quick wit and listening ear. Known for taking on varied roles and providing a fresh perspective on conflicts, Kimberly has never met a work snafu she couldn’t untangle. Client Michelle Barber notes, “I am most grateful for her candor and her directness when the chaos starts to swirl.”

Kimberly’s growth-focused business goals have directly impacted AppWorks for the better. Developer David Weiner writes, “When she started it was just three of us at scattered locations with perhaps a dozen clients. Now there are almost three times as many of us, with a lovely office in downtown Portland, and over 70 active clients, due in large part to her effective management. I don’t know where we’d be without her!”

“Kim is instrumental to the success of AppWorks. She cares deeply about both staff and customers, and wears many hats to ensure things run smoothly. And she does all of that with style, grace, and a wicked sense of humor.”

Matt Navarre, CEO of AppWorks

In her free time, Kimberly is an internationally published copywriter. If her voice sounds familiar, she does voiceover work on the side as well. We’d wager that she can beat you in chess, and she also enjoys playing video games with her two children, her favorite being The Last of Us

Kimberly has lived in 29 different places, notably including The Aloha State. Within Oregon, her favorite destination is the coast. For travel, she Louvres Paris, and has her heart set on Scotland next, where she seeks scenic coastline and a fine (non-rye) whiskey. She is a prolific reader and curates books for office circulation, most recently the Freida Klein series. She urges you to read A Prayer for Owen Meany by John Irving.

We urge you to read one of her articles and consult Kimberly.
