January Meetup with LiveCode

We’d like to extend a thank you to everyone that was able to join us this past Tuesday night for our monthly Meetup. We began with our customary FileMaker Q&A session, then listened to a special presentation from Kevin Miller of LiveCode.

Kevin demonstrated the beta 3 version of the upcoming LCFM Native, LiveCode’s tool for translating a FileMaker app to a native app on any device. Native works a variety of platforms, including iOS, Android, Mac, Windows, and Linux. Kevin then converted several FileMaker layouts to a native Android application. This impressive demonstration sparked discussions about security, connectivity, deployment, UX, licensing costs, and more. We are eagerly anticipating Native’s release in 2019.

We would love to have you join our Meetup group, FileMaker Portland. We typically meet on the second Wednesday of the month, and will do so in February. This group welcomes all levels of developers.
